The truth is that Verity Antiques has been born out of necessity, let me explain.
My love of all things old began as a child visiting all the small antique shops with my mother some forty years ago. They were just magical places to rummage and explore. That same excitement, the thrill of finding a beautiful object has never left me, especially individual pieces of furniture.
Here comes the necessary part of Verity’s, after filling each house that I have lived in with antiques and now with no plans to move I have been banned from buying anymore antique furniture by my wife, simply because we don’t have any more room in the house. So whenever I go on my antique trips the first question I am asked when I get home is “Tell me the truth, have you bought any more antique furniture?”
Hence the name Verity from the Latin ‘Veritas’ meaning “truth” and the truth is I just can’t stop buying antiques and I don’t think I ever will, hence the necessity for Verity Antiques.
So if I can be a custodian of a beautiful object even if it is just for a day, and then it is purchased by you, and it becomes part of your home so as to enrich your life every time you use it, or every time you look at it. I take the greatest pleasure that you also have loved it as much as I have.
“I believe that antiques are our connection to the past that ethically preserves our future.”
